Congratulations to Association of Washington Generals' Board Member, Doug Pierson!
On July 11th, 2018 Colonel Doug Pierson was promoted to Brigadier General in the United States Marine Corps Reserve. Doug’s promotion ceremony was held at the Microsoft Campus in Redmond, Washington, and his promoting officer was Lieutenant General Rex McMillian, Commander of the Marine Forces Reserve. The Color Guard was provided by Combat Logistics Battalion-23 from Joint Base Lewis-McChord.
Lieutenant General McMillian spoke of Doug’s exceptional drive and leadership, as well as his compassion and integrity, which distinguishes him from his peers, earning him this new position. Doug was joined by his wife Maggie, daughter Olivia, parents, family, friends, and coworkers as he took his oath and was sworn into his new position. Lieutenant General McMillian spoke of the important role that Doug’s family and friends will play in supporting Doug in this new position, and recognized the sacrifice that his loved ones make as he serves his country.
The Association of Washington Generals is incredibly proud of Brigadier General Doug Pierson. We know that in this new role Doug will continue to not only serve our communities in Washington, but our country, and the world. We wish him all the best in this next chapter of his life.
