Pillars of the WSLB Leadership Curriculum

 (as defined by the Merriam-Webster Dictionary):

  • Definition: An obligation or willingness to accept responsibility or to account for one’s actions.

  • Definition: The act or process of supporting a cause or proposal.

  • Definition:  A process by which information is exchanged between individuals through a common system of symbols, signs, or behavior.

  • Definition: The ability to recognize, understand and deal skillfully with one’s own emotions, and the emotions of others (as by regulating one’s emotions or by showing empathy and good judgment in social interactions).

  • Definition: The ability to be receptive to arguments or ideas.

  • Definition: A strong liking or desire for or devotion to some activity, object, or concept; An intense, driving, or overmastering feeling or conviction.

  • Definition:  An ability to recover from or adjust easily to misfortune or change.

  • Definition:  The act of serving: such as a helpful act and/or useful labor that does not produce a tangible commodity.

  • Definition: Work done by a group acting together so that each member does a part that contributes to the efficiency of the whole.
